7/7/2021: We have just learned that the location we are assigned in the park has changed. This event will now run from Pavilion B. This is about a block south from Pavilion A as previously planned. After entering the park, turn right onto Campground Road (before reaching the Dome.). Pavilion B is immediately on the north side of the street. Other parts of this site including the parking page will be updated shortly to reflect the slight change. Thank you for your flexibility.
You CAN 5k. This event is for EVERY ONE. EVERY BODY.
You won't get lost. You won't get forgotten. You'll run a clearly marked 5k loop with multiple portojohns & aid stations along the way. And if you're up for a 10k or 15 distance, you'll be running the same loop one or two more times! We're gonna keep you hydrated and safe along the way AND at the finish line. When you're done we'll be at the finish line with a huge smile and a high five to celebrate YOU, because YOU CAN 5k!!
What else is at the finish line? BLING! ICED TOWELS! ICE POPS!
EVERY Finisher will go home with a shiny new FINISHER MEDAL! That means you can celebrate your accomplishment over and over as you display your hard-earned BLING!
Gender-specific, short-sleeved technical fabric race tee shirts are also included with your registration. Ladies - many women's shirts run 'small' in technical fabric. We've tested these and they are much more true to size than others. Be assured, these shirts are definitely NOT 'junior' sizing.
We are very exited to partner with Food For Hope for this event. Food for Hope delivers food to local children in Adams County. For this race you have two ways to help out. You can donate online or bring in-kind food donations on race day for a chance to win a raffle prize! Either way you choose to help, your generous donations go toward the support of LOCAL Adams County children. Food for Hope programs include:
Weekend Food Bags: Every week, volunteers meet to put together a bag full of nutritious food for each child enrolled in our elementary school program. Bags include a vegetable (canned or fresh), a fruit (canned or fresh), whole grains, protein items, and 2 breakfasts/snacks. Volunteers deliver bags to participating schools on Thursday of each week, to be distributed before they leave for the weekend.
School Fuel: Students need snacks at school to maintain focus, keep their energy up, and find success in their classes. Many teachers have reported to us that they use personal finances to purchase extra snacks for their students who are not able to bring one from home. We created this program to provide school day snacks, and alleviate the financial burden from teachers who are providing this on their own.
Northglenn High Food Bank: This in-school food bank provides groceries for students in the school, as well as for any Adams 12 school district families who need extra nutritional support.
NEW IN 2021: We are now supporting two new areas with Food Banks, one in Pinnacle Charter School and the other in Adams County 14 District Building.
Additionally, I Can 5k is thrilled to partner with the Running Start Program in their pursuit to help women overcome their fitness barriers & transform their lives through running. Running Start alumnea will be present at this event VOLUNTEERING and earning race entries for the Running Start class of 2021 to participate in their training culmination event at the Adams Half & 5k in September.
